Our Roots

AINovo was founded in 2020 by CEO Anvita Gupta, who had previously conducted research in AI and Computational Biology at Stanford University, Harvard Medical School, and ETH Zurich. Anvita saw firsthand how Generative AI had the ability to completely change the way Biotechnology Research was done in the lab, giving researchers the power to program biology. In one paper, deep learning models developed by Anvita were able to increase the success rates of early stage drug discovery from 1% to 80%! Another project from Anvita was invited to be presented to President Obama at the White House in 2015 (right).

These results were repeated again and again over different problems in the biosciences. In every domain, AI and Deep Learning were able to dramatically increase success rates in biotech R&D. These insights led to AINovo Biotech and our current proprietary AI platform for the biosciences, as we work to make the discovery process smarter and better for every partner.
